# Currencies

> Fiat and stablecoin currencies for FX trading and first-party withdrawals, with rails, networks, and early-access labels.

This catalog is for two first-party flows: FX trading, and withdrawals to a verified account you own. Use it to pick the `currency` value on `/v3/fx/` requests, validate inputs before a quote, and see which assets are still early access.

It does not list receive currencies for third-party payouts. Those are a separate catalog: [Supported payout currencies](/v3/payouts#supported-payout-currencies) lists the currencies you can pay to someone else's bank account.

<Note>
  **Source of truth for trading.** Trading pairs can differ by organization.
  [`GET /v3/fx/pairs`](/v3/api-reference/trade/list-currency-pairs)
  is the live list of what *your* account can trade. The tables below are the
  platform-wide set. An account's enabled subset may be smaller. Request more
  pairs through Customer Success at
  [support@mail.openfx.com](mailto:support@mail.openfx.com).
</Note>

For how amounts are encoded as strings, and how precision works in requests and responses, see [Amounts](/v3/amounts).

## What this catalog covers

| Flow | What you do | How you learn what is enabled |
| - | - | - |
| FX trading | Quote and execute a conversion | [`GET /v3/fx/pairs`](/v3/api-reference/trade/list-currency-pairs) |
| First-party withdrawal | Send from your balance to a [verified withdrawal account](/v3/verified-accounts) you own | Rails and networks in the tables below, bound to that account |

A code that appears here can be a valid `CurrencyCode` on a payout request and still fail later: payout support is gated by capability coverage and the destination address, not by this list.

## Currency code format

Currencies use the `CurrencyCode` type (regex `^[A-Z0-9]{2,15}$`).

* Fiat follows ISO 4217 (<span class="ofx-enum">USD</span>, <span class="ofx-enum">EUR</span>, <span class="ofx-enum">GBP</span>).
* Stablecoins use canonical tickers (<span class="ofx-enum">USDC</span>, <span class="ofx-enum">USDT</span>, <span class="ofx-enum">EURC</span>).
* Codes are case-sensitive and always uppercase.

## Fiat

For first-party fiat withdrawals, rails accept at most 2 decimal places (for example `"1000.00"`) and reject sub-cent amounts. This rail limit does not constrain FX amounts: FX requests and responses may contain up to 16 fractional digits. See [Amounts](/v3/amounts).

| Name | Code | First-party withdrawal rails |

| <span className="ofx-currency-flag ofx-currency-flag--eur" />Euro | EUR | SEPA, SEPA Instant, SWIFT |

| <span className="ofx-currency-flag ofx-currency-flag--php" />Philippine Peso <span className="ofx-release-state">Beta</span> | PHP | PESONet |

<span className="ofx-release-state">Beta</span> currencies are available for integration testing. The contract may still change. Do not promise production SLAs to your customers yet. No state label means the currency is generally available and supported for production traffic.

The rails above are first-party withdrawal rails. Third-party payouts route over their own rails, for example <span class="ofx-enum">CO\_ACH</span> and <span class="ofx-enum">BREB</span> for COP and <span class="ofx-enum">AE\_LOCAL</span> for AED, so a currency can show different rail names here and in the payout catalog.

Per-currency cut-offs for first-party withdrawals are on [Settlement times](/v3/settlement-times). Confirm cut-offs and submission rules with Customer Success before you integrate Beta fiat.

## Stablecoins

For first-party stablecoin withdrawals, rails accept up to 6 decimal places (for example `"1000.123456"`). FX amount schemas allow up to 16 fractional digits. See [Amounts](/v3/amounts).

Withdrawal chain selection is bound to the verified withdrawal account, not the `currency` field. A <span class="ofx-enum">USDC</span> `withdrawableBalance` spans enabled chains until you pick a `withdrawalAccountId`.

The API `network` value for each chain, and how withdrawals route, live on [Supported networks](/v3/supported-networks).

| Name | Code | First-party withdrawal networks |
| - | - | - |
| <span className="ofx-currency-flag ofx-currency-flag--usdc" />USD Coin | USDC | Aptos, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Binance Smart Chain, Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon, Solana, Tron |
| <span className="ofx-currency-flag ofx-currency-flag--usdt" />Tether | USDT | Aptos, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Binance Smart Chain, Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon, Solana, Tron |
| <span className="ofx-currency-flag ofx-currency-flag--eurc" />Euro Coin | EURC | Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Solana |

## How `currency` is used per endpoint

| Endpoint | What `currency` means |
| - | - |
| [`GET /v3/fx/balances`](/v3/api-reference/trade-settlement/list-balances) | One row per currency. `currency` is the account-side identifier. |
| [`POST /v3/fx/quotes`](/v3/api-reference/trade/create-quote) | `buyCurrency` + `sellCurrency`, plus exactly one of `buyAmount` or `sellAmount`. |
| [`POST /v3/fx/trades`](/v3/api-reference/trade/execute-trade) | Inherited from the quote. No `currency` field on the trade body. |
| [`POST /v3/fx/withdrawals`](/v3/api-reference/trade-settlement/create-withdrawal) | Currency leaving the balance. Must match the verified withdrawal account’s currency. |
| [`GET /v3/fx/deposits`](/v3/api-reference/trade-settlement/list-deposits) | Detected from the incoming wire or on-chain transfer. |

## Adding a new currency

The listed set is the platform default. To request a trading pair or account-level enablement, contact Customer Success at [support@mail.openfx.com](mailto:support@mail.openfx.com). Once enabled, pairs show up in [`GET /v3/fx/pairs`](/v3/api-reference/trade/list-currency-pairs) and can be quoted immediately.
